Because let’s be honest, there aren’t many outlets left for men to connect the way we were built to.For millions of years, men thrived in teams; hunting, exploring, teaching the next generation how to survive. Now, we sit in boxes surrounded by artificial noise and screens. And it’s breaking us down; physically, mentally, and spiritually.I took the blinders off and decided to do something about it. Where you will stay

This isn’t a hotel. This is basecamp.Our geodesic dome, built by hand by the owner and his son, sits completely off the grid on raw desert land near Big Bend National Park—built with only the essentials so it feels like a true camping experience, but with everything you need to sleep, cook, shower, and gather around the fire at the end of the day.Inside, the dome is simple, rugged, and comfortable: futon sleeping mats, fans for airflow, a coffee & tea bar, a table for meals or maps, and a solar-charged power bank for lights, starlink internet, and basic device charging. Outside, you’ve got a private fire pit, a covered picnic table, a grill, and a separate kitchen and shower building for practical off-grid living.There is no plumbing and no grid power. Water comes from a non-potable storage tank, and all power is limited solar by design. This forces a reset—less scrolling, more presence, for feeling the environment.You’re surrounded by thousands of acres of undeveloped desert. No traffic. No noise. Just wilderness, hard trails, hot fires, and nights that reset your nervous system.

I’m Tom Williams, US Army veteran, originally from the Mississippi Gulf Coast and now based near Houston, TX.This whole West Texas dream started as a family project; a way to build something real with our own hands. Back in 2021, we began constructing our first off-grid dome just outside Big Bend National Park. The goal was simple: take on a big challenge in a challenging but beautiful environment and create a space where people could truly disconnect from the noise and reconnect with the wild.We did it. That dome turned into one of the most popular stays for travelers headed to Big Bend, and along the way I discovered something deeper. Working out here with my son, now 23, hauling lumber, battling desert winds, watching the sun set over the Chisos Mountains… those trips became therapy.That’s when our Dude Trip was born.
I realized other men needed this too; a way to step out of the city, sweat a little, get quiet, and feel what we’re built for again. We’ve built the perfect venue for that: rugged comfort, campfire conversations, starlit skies, and the kind of challenge that wakes something up inside you.I’ve always loved hospitality and creating experiences that matter. So I’m fired up to share this with you; adventures designed around our evolutionary biology, bringing real physical, mental, and spiritual restoration to men.I can’t wait for you and the crew to experience this incredible land called the Big Bend.
